The first lady who also doubles as the Minister of education and sports Janet Kataaha Museveni has asked parents to be vigilant and protect their children against immoral acts that continue to loom in the country.
The first lady said this during the belated Women’s Day celebrations held Tuesday at Rwashamaire Playground in Ntungamo District.
She underscored the need to protect the well-being of children and communities by tackling the LGBTQ agenda with determination and vigilance.
She also urged parents and guardians to monitor children’s exposure to various media sources and setting aside politics, to work in unison towards improving lives, contributing to the growth of household incomes, and fostering a better future for all.
Mrs Museveni furthermore urged women to take on income-generating projects to support their households and to promote a culture of saving and investing in their communities.
The event was graced by Legislators, members of the clergy, local leaders and among other dignitaries.
