Timothy Ddumba clinched victory after scooping 53.35 per cent of the casted votes to become the 25th guild president of Uganda Christian University (UCU) on Friday, November 18.
The Director of Student Affairs (DOSA), Bridget Mugume announced the student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology after beating his counterpart Jorem Edonu (46.65).
“I hardly know what to say, I am just excited and thankful to the students for entrusting me to lead them,” Ddumba told UCU Focus TV in excitement and deep breaths.
“The victory is not mine alone. But it goes to everyone that believes in accountability and implementation. Yes, we shall not celebrate a lot because we need to get to work,” he added.
“As I have said before, we have to account for the trust entrusted in us and implement our plans for a better UCU. I can not wait to work with the students’ body.”
“I congratulate all the winners and appreciate everyone that took part in the elections till the last day. Victory belongs to Jesus,” he concluded.
Ddumba will take the big seat replacing Racheal Mirembe Sserwadda who has diligently served as the 24th president.
