For his endeavors amidst the wake of the corona virus pandemic, President Yoweri Museveni is one of the recipients of the prestigious Face of Entebbe Outstanding Achievement Award in the COVID-19 Heroes category.
While unveiling this Year’s recipients and categories Face of Entebbe Director, Richard Wamala said Thursday the recipients of the COVID-19 heroes award deserved honouring for their foresightedness and unwavering leadership during the crisis.
“It is a true honor to recognize the President’s brave leadership during the pandemic and steering the country with wisdom to abate calamity.” he said
The other recipients of the same award this year include Health Minister Jane Aceng, Pastor Earnest Majjenge of Mama Catherine Children’s Ministries and now retired nurse Drazu Josephine.
According to the organizers, the recipients are being honoured for their exceptional commitment and bravery during the pandemic thus the need to shine a light on their heroics.
“We created this category last year, the inaugural winners were Mr. Fabrice Rulinda, Dr. Moses Muwanga, Dr. John Kalyesubula, Pastor Aaron Mutebi and Dr. Drake Kanaabo, this is one way to say thank you to our heroes,” Wamala stated
For the Outstanding Achievement Award- Individual category, the recipients include Malayaka House founder Robert Flemming, SC Vipers President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa and Dr. Yavuz Sahin of the Ngali Development Foundation.
They also announced the institutions will receive an award for their contribution in improving the life of Entebbe dwellers. Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and Uganda Virus research Institute (UVRI) will both receive the Outstanding Achievement Award- Organization category.
During the same event, Face of Entebbe announced that nominations for other categories are officially open to the public. “The people are free to submit names of the outstanding persons within their communities and beyond for any award until 30th June,

The awards ceremony will be crowned with a grand finale for the Face of Entebbe Beauty Pageant, Award giving ceremony and a dinner on August 21st 2021 in the Jupiter Auditorium at Flight Motel, Entebbe
