The leading opposition party in Parliament, National Unity Platform (NUP) yesterday unveiled the construction site for its new headquarters.
The party is set to kick off construction in Makerere-Kavule.

The party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, was the guest of honor during the groundbreaking ceremony.
Other party leaders and members of Parliament also attended the event.

According to Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi the party spokesperson, they are going to shift from their Kamwokya-based office, which he said that its relatively small.

He also added that many times when they want to have big functions, they inconvenience their party president to allow them use his compound because he has an expansive compound.

“Over time, we have realized that Kamwokya has become too small for us. As a political party, we have grown and continue to grow, “Ssenyonyi stated.

Previously, NUP was called the National Unity, Reconciliation and Development Party but in 2020 it was rebranded and unveiled by Bobi Wine at Kamwokya.
