The President H.E Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine at a press address held yesterday in Makerere Kavule responded to claims by Gen. Yoweri Museveni who alleged that NUP rigged one million votes in the 2021 general elections.

Gen. Museveni made the reckless statements during the three day defense and security expo 2024 organized to remember former CDF Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.

“I have now got all the evidence that in the last election, NUP cheated by one million votes. I have the facts. NUP can take me to court and they say Museveni has falsely accused them, but this is what happened,” Gen. Museveni said on September 12

Responding to these allegations, the President H.E Kyagulanyi challenged Gen. Museveni to waive off his immunity from being sued, and the battle proceeds to court.

He furthermore asked that the results be submitted to an international audit. “…(the regime) should submit to a credible, transparent, and independent audit of the 2021 electoral process, conducted by a reputable international body, preferably the United Nations,” the President suggested.

He furthermore dared Gen. Museveni to dismiss his chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice Simon Byabakama.

”If he (Gen. Museveni) was cheated by a million votes, why is he still keeping Byabakama? Why don’t you fire him?,” President Kyagulanyi questioned.

The president issued a full statement in writing responding to these claims and challenging Gen. Museveni’s remarks, which we have attached below:
