Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, Caroline Kansiime Muhwezi has rallied market vendors and small-scale business owners in her constituency to join saving groups and SACCOs in order to establish income generating ventures.
This was disclosed by area LC5 Councilor, Jackline Nkamushaba who was delivering a donation of 60 business umbrellas to small-scale business operators in Muhanga Town Council on behalf of the Woman legislator.
Nkamushaba said that there has been a concern from people operating stalls in the open leading to the perishing of produce hence counting losses.
In Muhwezi’s message to the locals relayed by Nkamushaba, she revealed that there are many strategies they are looking at to uplift the unstable small-scale businesses like providing people with financial support among others as they at times help them to pay school dues for their young ones.
The Chairperson Market produce Vendors in Muhanga trading Center, Biryabarema Francis said that there are still challenges of big trucks packing in front of them something they have engaged leaders on but failed to work out.
He said that having leaders who clearly understand their cry is of advantage, thus thanking Muhwezi for providing them with Umbrellas to cover their products.
