South African High Commissioner to Uganda Meets Veterans Affairs Minister – Pro Media News Uganda

South Africa’s High Commissioner to Uganda H.E Lulama Xingwana has paid a courtesy call to the Minister of State for Veteran Affairs in Uganda Hon. Huda Oleru at the Docket of Veteran Affairs domiciled at Postel House on Clement Hill in Kampala Friday 24th of June, 2022.

The meeting between the two focused on issues of mutual interest between the respective countries including those that affect military veterans and strengthening the cooperation between the countries.

The meeting also featured experiences on the need to continuously improve the welfare of veterans through programs that aim at reskilling, resettling, rehabilitating, managing disabilities, medicare, job placement and innovative integration for all veterans.

H.E Xingwana commended UPDF and its leadership for restoring peace and security in the country and beyond reechoing South Africa’s commitment towards building peace and stability in Uganda.

Hon. Oleru appreciated the Government of South Africa for its cordial cooperation in defence and security with Uganda through training and defence diplomacy.

The Deputy High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa in Uganda H.E Silly Sebolla, UPDF Chief of Pensions and Gratuity Brig Gen Julius Biryabarema, Commissioner Psycho Social Support and Resettlement Mr. Mike Wambi Mabonga, his deputy Arthur Kamya and a delegation from South Africa were also at the meeting.
